MEDIA RELEASE - Dartmouth & District to host family friendly Burns Dinner

January 3, 2020, Halifax, NS – Dartmouth & District Pipe Band presents Burns Night Dinner & Ceilidh on Saturday, January 25, 2020 starting at 6:00 PM at Brightwood Golf and Country Club in Dartmouth. Tickets are $75 (12 & under $30) and proceeds from the event will help the organization purchase uniforms, instruments, and travel to the 2020 World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. 

This family friendly evening will be packed full of musical entertainment from Dartmouth & District Pipe Band and special guests Cailean MacLean (Celtic guitar) and Douglas Cameron (fiddle). Dinner includes hip of beef buffet, haggis, neeps and tatties, dessert, and more. There will be a cash bar.

"Celebrating the great Robert Burns with music, traditional Scottish fare, and maybe a little taste of scotch, is a perfect way to spend a cold January evening," says organizer Arlene White. "We are heading into our 55th pipe band season in 2020 and look forward to the support of our alumni and friends."

Dartmouth & District Pipe Band, established in 1965, is based out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, drawing members and students from across Halifax county and the province. The organization consists of two competition bands, a parade band, and a well-established bagpipe and drumming school. The grade 4 band are the current North American Champions in that level.
