Dartmouth & District Pipe Band were awarded second place in Grade 3A at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday.
“The band worked incredibly hard this year and this result shows it," said Pipe Major Blaise Theriault. “I’m proud of the dedication and determination of every player in the band.”
The prestigious international contest brings together thousands of pipers and drummers from all over the world. 204 bands took part across all grades.
The Grade 3A contest started off with 28 bands who played in 2 heats with the top 6 from each moving on to play in the final.
This is the first season the band has competed at this level, having won the North American Championships last year in Grade 4
